The Trystan is our city-ready long coat — for men who want serious wet-weather protection without looking overly “country”. It’s the coat that works when you’re heading into town, going out for the evening, walking the dog, or travelling — and you still want to look sharp.

Slightly more tailored than the Newlyn and just a touch shorter, the Trystan offers a cleaner silhouette while keeping the long-coat coverage that makes all the difference in wind and rain. It’s smart enough for restaurants and city wear, but practical enough for everyday life.

Made from a breathable, fully waterproof fabric with light padding, the Trystan is ideal for the colder, wetter ends of the year. The long cut helps keep you dry from head to boot, often removing the need for waterproof trousers (if you are under 5'11' the Trystan still falls over the wellies) — and in many cases, even a brolly. Finished with a detachable hood and designed for comfort and movement, the Trystan is available in classic colours, including a standout Midnight Blue — a deeper, more evening-ready option that looks particularly good when out in the evening.

MATERIAL: Feels like "cotton canvas".

WARMTH: The Trystan is medium-weight, this ensuring you are less likely to overheat during milder conditions (and the bottom half of the coat does not blow open in the wind). There is some light padding in the coat which means a slight bias towards cooler times. Material is hard-wearing and fully waterproof.

BREATHABILITY: 3.000 gr/m²

WATERPROOF RATING: 8,000mm hydrostatic pressure test

WEIGHT: 1.5kg

LENGTH: Full length. Over the boot for those up to 5'9" (taller than this then the coat may ride over the boot when striding).

HOOD: Yes, with drawstring. Detachable via press studs.

CUFFS: Adjustable via three press studs

SEAMS: Taped.

MAIN ZIPS: One for closing against the weather (protected by a material flap). The main zip ends approx. 47cm from the hem.

POCKETS: Outer pockets x2 (no zips or studs). Inside the coat there are two pockets (15x15cm and 10x18cm) - handy for your phone or keys.

PRESS STUDS: Light/medium strength studs, spaced 18cm apart, that continue the length of the coat until about 8cm from the hem.

Unused returned as new: Any product can be returned if undamaged and unworn (aside from trying on) for a period of 40 days of purchase for exchange or refund (60 days if purchased in November or December). 

Used and worn: Coats can be returned for an exchange or refund if returned and found to be not waterproof (we will test it thoroughly) within 40 days of purchase (60 days if purchased in November or December).

COATS: In general it is best to brush the dirt off rather than washing. The less that coats are washed the longer they will last. The care label can be found on the garment. NO fabric softener or tumble drying as they can dissolve the taping and dry out the laminations which can lead to leaking. 

Tweed coats are dry clean only.
