Completely waterproof, breathable material (not just a coating that wears off so never needs reproofing). Stay dry or your money back (40 days to trial).
The flagship of the Longcoats range for those who insist on the very best. Two versions:
Lamorna: The 'Classic' Lamorna has no internal padding allows for you to add layers underneath as required (or choose one of our zip-in fleeces). Ideal for dog walkers as padded coats can be too warm during exercise, especially in Spring and Autumn.
Lamorna WARM (arriving Autumn 2024): Internal padding and a faux-fur hood for the harshest of winter conditions.
Slip on your new, stylish, long-coat and walk tall. Influenced by classic long coats of previous times, the Lamorna is manufactured from a medium-weight, hard-wearing, breathable fabric that does not open or fly around with the wind. Keeping you dry and warm, from head to boot, the Lamorna is fully waterproof and will be your friend during the biggest storms. No need for waterproof trousers - just grab this coat and go. Pockets, internal and external, are necessary features as is the detachable, adjustable hood.
MATERIAL: "Feels like smooth cotton/canvas". The outer fabric is a textured Dobby weave in 85% polyester 15% polyamide, with a waterproof PU laminate backing. Faux moleskin-lined collar and cuffs.
WARMTH: The Lamorna is medium-weight ensuring you do not overheat during milder conditions and means the bottom half of the coat does not blow open in the wind. Fully lined - not quilted or padded.
LAYERING : You will likely need to layer up for winter weather or you can purchase an optional zip-in fleece.
BREATHABILITY: 3.000 gr/m².
WATERPROOF RATING: 8,000mm hydrostatic pressure test.
WEIGHT: 1.6kg
LENGTH: Full, over the boot.
HOOD: Yes, with drawstring. Detachable via press studs. Also adjustable via strap and velcro on hood top.
CUFFS: Edged with faux-moleskin and adjustable via two press studs.
SEAMS: Taped.
MAIN ZIPS: One "chunky" zip (we like) for closing against the weather (protected by a material flap) and a second, smaller zip, for adding an optional fleece or gilet. The main zip ends approx. 50cm from the hem.
POCKETS: Outer pockets have covering flaps and press studs to keep contents dry and secure. Inside the coat there is a separate mesh open-pocket and a zip-fastened inside pocket (15x15cm) - handy for your phone or keys.
PRESS STUDS: Strong studs, spaced 14cm apart, that continue the length of the coat until about 24cm from the hem.

COATS: In general it is best to brush the dirt off rather than washing. The less that coats are washed the longer they will last. The care label can be found on the garment. NO fabric softener or tumble drying as they can dissolve the taping and dry out the laminations which can lead to leaking.
Tweed coats are dry clean only.
FLEECES: Follow care instructions on label.
This is a method used to make materials waterproof by putting a waterproof tape or liquid sealant along the seams (usually on the inside so it can't be seen).
Resists water droplets from passing through. Water resistance is measured by the amount of water, in mm, which can be suspended above the fabrics before water passes.
"Windproof" fabric doesn't let the wind come through. It is very useful to keep you warm. Fabrics are made windproof by membrane or by weaving them very tightly.
Allows body heat and perspiration to pass through. Breathability is measured by the rate at which water vapour passes through, in units of grams of water vapour.
I have sprayed all coats for over 5 minutes with a hose and all have remained dry. A better test is actually wearing the coats and I do this twice a day on my daily dog walks. Julian Patrick, Longcoats.
